OMHS nurse externs: hands-on experience in a great learning environment

Start your summer off right with the Summer Nurse Externship at OMHS! Our 10-week program allows nursing students the rare opportunity to work side-by-side with a Registered Nurse in a real clinical setting. Gain hands on experience and have your textbooks come alive. Externs often report a greater understanding of clinical skills and patient care that enhances their performance in the classroom their last year of school.

This program is open to nursing students who have completed their second semester of an accredited A.D.N. program or third year of an accredited B.S.N. program. Students must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA while in the program.

A completed job application, college transcript and clinical reference form must be received by March 22, 2010. When completing the application, please list your top three areas of interest. Nurse Externs can work up to 40 hours per pay period on their assigned unit during the summer session and 24 hours per pay period during the school-year.  All eligible candidates will be notified by May 3, 2010.
