MultiCare clinic is first stop for primary care in the Tell City area

Our story

It was a calling that led Marilyn Ayer to open her own family medical practice in 2006. After a long career working in the emergency room, Ayer was ready to use her considerable skills as a nurse practitioner in a different way. She wanted to deliver primary care--family care--and she wanted to go to a place where it was most needed.

Ayer opened her first clinic in Hawesville, KY, and word quickly spread about the new practice. Things were different here, patients said. They didn't feel rushed. The provider took her time and listened. You could walk right in. Quickly the community embraced its new clinic and its new primary care provider.

For OMHS, the clinic represented something special: an exciting opportunity to expand medical services for the Hawesville-Tell City area. If the hospital could partner with Ayer's clinic--and build upon her impeccable reputation--the results could be outstanding: more resources for the clinic and increased access to primary care for local residents.

In 2008, Ayer's clinic joined the OMHS family, and the partnership has been a perfect fit. 

Now known as MultiCare Tell City, and backed by OMHS, the facility's reputation for great service and quality care continues to grow. Each day, new patients discover the MultiCare difference and returning ones are happy they came back.
