Clinical Trials

At the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center, we are proud to offer the most sophisticated cancer treatments available today. But as we lead our region in the fight against cancer, we know that today is only the beginning.

Where will tomorrow’s innovations come from? Who will help discover the next breakthrough in cancer treatment, or perhaps the next cure?

The answer lies in research, and at the Cancer Center, it’s a key part of our vision. That is why we offer opportunities for our patients to participate in clinical trials created by some of the most innovative organizations in the nation: universities, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions. Through our active participation in important clinical trial networks, patients have access to some of the world’s most advanced treatment options right here in Owensboro. Our network affiliations include Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Affiliation Network, Kentucky Clinical Trials Network, and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) .

By participating in clinical trials, patients receive world-class treatment --often with little or no financial cost. Patients are also involved in important research that could help change the way cancer is treated in the future.

Research—it is the mark of a truly innovative cancer institution. And at the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center, clinical trials are one way we are leading the fight against cancer—now and into the future.
