Inpatient Behavioral Healthcare

The Behavioral Healthcare Unit

OMHS’ Behavioral Health Care is a 12-bed inpatient unit staffed by psychiatrists, a nurse practitioner and a psychiatric certified nursing staff.  Other specialists working in the unit include social workers, recreational therapists and religious life staff.  They conduct five group sessions a day and a four-day average length of stay. 

Returning You to Life

Behavioral health inpatient care begins with an interdisciplinary assessment and diagnosis.  We determine a treatment plan and any complementary therapies.  The patient’s progress is checked and monitored to update or modify the plan.  The final step is to transition you to the appropriate after-care treatment.

Outpatient Behavioral Healthcare

OMHS Outpatient Counseling Center is located at the Breckenridge Medical Office Building , 1000 Breckenridge Street, Suite 303 .

The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The Outpatient Counseling Center sees prescheduled appointments and has walk-in medication clinics three times a week.  Please call for time and days at 270-685-2392.

OMHS Behavioral Health’s Outreach

OHMS Behavioral Health staff is available for consultation to all the medical departments throughout the hospital.  Additionally we also maintain a speaker’s bureau to provide education on behavioral health issues for local events.
